摘要
Molecules are ubiquitous in daily life and play essential roles across many areas ofscience. The earlier development of organic molecules embedded in solid-state matriceslaid the foundation for the fields of solid-state single-photon emitters and single-spinmagnetic resonance. In this talk, I will discuss the physics of molecular host-guestsystems and present an overview of their potential in solid-state quantum photonics andmagnetic-field sensing. In particular, I will highlight recent advances in room-temperaturespin coherence, integration with two-dimensional materials, and discuss efforts to exploitthe vast chemical space to facilitate molecules as tailorable and designable quantumresources.

Daqing Wang received his PhD from the Max-PlanckInstitute for the Science of Light and the University ofErlangen-Nuremberg in 2019. His PhD thesis on cavity-quantum electrodynamics with single molecules was awardedthe Dissertation Prize of the German Physical Society (DPG)in 2020. After his PhD, he was a postdoctoral researcher andjunior Principal Investigator at the University of Kassel. SinceOctober 2023, he is a tenure-track-professor at the Universityof Bonn and the Excellence Cluster Matter and Light forQuantum Computing (ML4Q). He has been awarded aStarting Grant by the European Research Council (ERC) in2022 and a Poof-of-Concept Grant in 2026.
