Abstract
Sputter-induced nanopatterning has drawn attention due to its simple applicability and also intricate mechanism for the formation of the ordered nanostructures. In the present talk, I will present our recent works to make novel nanopatterns other than simple nanodots and ripples, employing multiple ion beam sputtering. Sophisticated nanopatterns such as nanobead patterns, then, well served as a test-bed to examine models for the pattern formation. We find that non-linear effects beyond KPZ (Kadar-Parish-Zhang) is found essential to understand the formation of the nanobead pattern.
